Avocados
are one of the most delicious and versatile foods out there. They’re great on
toast, delicious in guacamole, and a fantastic addition to any salad.
You
can even substitute avocado in baking recipes and desserts, like this delicious
chocolate coconut mousse.
Avocados
can also be used for a variety of self-care items, like face and hair masks.
This delicious vegetable is heart-healthy and full of good fats and omega 3s.
Although
avocados are undoubtedly delicious and healthy, they’re tricky to store. Once
you’ve sliced into an avocado, it quickly turns brown, making it look
unappetizing.
To
find a solution to this annoying oxidization, we tested nine different ways of
keeping avocados fresh, and we’re here to clue you in on what we found!
The
nine tests we tried were:
1-Submerge
it in water.
2-Store
it without a pit.
3-Brush
it with olive oil.
4-Store
it with its pit still in.
5-Store
it with an apple slice.
6-Store
it with a lemon slice.
7-Store
it with a lime slice.
8-Store
it with a red onion slice.
9-Store
it with a yellow onion slice.
After
48 hours in the fridge in their respective bags, we took the avocados out to
see which was in the best shape.
